Currency clippings were found in a sack on the roadside near Mari Company in the town on Hardoi-Unnao road. When people noticed, the matter came into limelight. SDM has said that an investigation will be conducted. People saw a white plastic bag tied on the roadside in front of Mashroor Pradhan’s market in Ganjmuradabad town on Hardoi-Unnao road. When I opened it, I found it filled with clippings of new notes of Rs 500, 200 and 100.
Shear cutting is such that it is expected to be cut by putting it in a machine. People kept coming to see him throughout the day on Tuesday. When the sack fell, the clippings spread on the ground. Bangarmau SDM Namrata Singh said that no such information has been received. An investigation will be conducted and further action will be taken on that basis.
In 2017 also, sacks filled with note clippings were found in Bangarmau area.
On January 11, 2017, two months after demonetization in November 2016, two sacks were found under the underpass of Agra-Lucknow Expressway on Unnao-Hardoi road in Bangarmau Kotwali area. In these, clippings of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes which had been declared illegal were found. Bangarmau Kotwali police had sent information to RBI after taking the clippings of notes in their possession. But after this the matter went on hold.
